Young drivers are more prone to fatal crashes because of their lack of experience. In fact, statistics show that in 2008 alone, at least 2,739 drivers aged 15-20 were killed in motor vehicle accidents.
A 20-year-old driver who was identified as Steven Everett Seery, from Thousand Oaks, recently died in a vehicle accident along the Ventura (101) Freeway in Westlake Village.
According to reports, the incident occurred along the westbound side of the freeway, near the Lindero Canyon Road.
Police said the driver was announced dead at the accident area.
A SigAlert was issued after the accident occurred. It was lifted when the roadway was cleared after a few hours.
Authorities are still investigating the fatal accident, said reports.
Even if a driver is still inexperienced, he can lessen his chances of being involved in an accident if he refrains from doing unlawful acts like speeding and drunk driving. If he is still unsure of his driving capabilities, he should ask an older driver to accompany him while he is driving.
